Laurence Fedrigo graduated with a master’s degree in vocational psychology and career counseling at the University of Lausanne with a one-semester exchange at University Laval in Quebec, Canada. Her master’s thesis focused on the adequate evaluation of refugee persons’ academic and professional aptitudes during the counseling process. She later worked in the promotion of foreigners’ professional and social integration and fight against racism. After these experiences, she wanted to deepen her understanding of the integration process of newcomers in Switzerland aiming at proposing new career counseling interventions. As a result, she is now finishing her PhD thesis at the Research center in vocational psychology and career counseling (CePCO) at the University of Lausanne and is visiting the LaRIOS team at the University of Padua for a semester. Her research focus on refugee persons, investigating career choices, access to decent work, meaning of work and gender.
